Job Description
Position Summary: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Implement the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement for the facility utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and all elements of QAPI to effect outcomes. Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing facility policies and procedures, and interviews facility personnel and residents to evaluate operational effectiveness of all departments. Reports and reviews activities and findings through regularly scheduled reporting which identifies problems, corrective actions taken, trends, patterns of care, etc. utilizing the reporting concepts related to QAPI. Interprets federal and state regulations/standards for each department to ensure required standards are being maintained or to formulate operational procedures as needed. Writes quality assurance policies and procedures based on QAPI regulatory requirements. Reviews and evaluates residents' medical records randomly and as needed to identify possible quality assurance issues. Selects specific topics for review such as problem procedures, medications, resident fall and accident prevention, resident hydration, food temps, infection control standards, facility safety, etc. Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings for weekly, quarterly, and annual meetings. Measure, analyze and manage variation in the performance of defined processes that affect resident safety. Responsible for development and implementation of training standards associated to quality assurance findings, changes in regulations, nurse practice standards, etc. Responsible for scheduling and coordinating in-servicing of staff based on facility needs and standards of quality care; including the development of on-going training programs for licensed nurses and CNA's with the assistance of the DON. Develops, schedules, and coordinates licensed nurse skills assessments and ongoing trainin Assists in the development and implementation of new initiatives that will increase the efficiency of our care delivery services/systems. Required to assist in filling open supervisory shifts as needed (this can and may include weekend coverage) and is required to participate in the supervisory holiday coverage of the facility.
